A Very Lucky Bird. Original Painting.

A few days ago, my husband walked into my studio, followed closely by our ginger cat. Then I noticed something in the cat's mouth—a little bird.

I screamed. Probably louder than necessary.

To everyone's surprise, the cat opened her mouth, and the bird flew free. What followed was complete chaos: the bird flying circles around the studio, the cat racing after her, and my husband and I chasing the cat.

Eventually, we managed to lock the cat in the bathroom, open the door, and watch the little Yellow Finch  find her way back outside.

This painting is inspired by that brave little yellow bird. It reminds me how quickly life can change—and how sometimes, against all odds, we are given another chance to fly.
